Marcel Marcellin stands at the intersection of law, innovation, and leadership — a dynamic and forward-thinking executive whose influence continues to redefine what a modern law firm can be. As Chief Executive Officer of Drake Law and founder of Velocity, a management platform for law firms, Marcel leads with a vision grounded in discipline, creativity, and a steadfast commitment to client experience. Under his guidance, the firm has evolved into one of Ontario’s most progressive family law practices, setting new standards for operational efficiency, technological integration, and human-centered service delivery.
Bringing a rare balance of analytical precision and creative instinct to every strategic decision, Marcel is a firm believer that processes must be efficient, but to be effective people must build trust — and that the best client experiences are born from both. Under a shared vision, Marcel and the firm’s founder and President John C. Drake, Drake Law continues to grow not just in scale, but in significance — shaping a model of legal service that is efficient, compassionate, and distinctly future-ready. Together, they represent a new kind of law firm leadership: one that marries business intelligence with humanity, innovation, and integrity.
Marcel attended Western University, where he earned a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Ivey Business School. His education laid the foundation for a leadership style defined by thoughtful insight, organizational innovation, and a deep appreciation for the relationship between people, process, and purpose. This dual lens of public policy and business management continues to shape his approach to law firm governance — pragmatic, forward-looking, and relentlessly focused on outcomes.
A father of four, lifelong musician, and design enthusiast since childhood, Marcel’s life hums with rhythm and motion. Whether composing melodies late into the night or refining the symmetry of his surroundings, he finds harmony in craft — in the quiet discipline of doing something well, simply because it should be done well. He often laughs that he once vowed never to repeat his father’s unwavering mantra: “Whatever you do, do it to the best of your ability — always.” Yet, like all truths that matter, it found its way into the marrow of his being. It is now the quiet pulse behind his leadership, his music, his work, and his life: a living echo of effort and enduring purpose.
