Meet Our Scholar: Tenisha Noel
Announcing the Recipient of The 2026 Drake Law Future Lawyers Scholarship
Drake Law is proud to announce Tenisha Noel as the 2026 recipient of The Drake Law Future Lawyers Scholarship. Selected from nearly 90 applicants from across the country, Tenisha embodies everything this scholarship was created to honour: academic excellence, a demonstrated commitment to the practice of law, and a deep, sustained dedication to the communities that most depend on it.
A graduate of the University of Guelph-Humber — where she earned the Gold Medallion in Leadership Excellence in Justice Studies — Tenisha has completed her Master of Laws at Osgoode Hall Law School as a Willard Z. Estey Teaching Fellow, and will begin her Juris Doctor at Osgoode and her Masters of Business Administration at Schulich School of Business this fall.
Beyond the classroom, Tenisha's grassroots youth advocacy speaks for itself. She is the founder of TrailblazerTenisha and co-founder of the DuoVida Collective and DuoVida Foundation — initiatives built to equip marginalized youth with the tools to advocate for themselves. Her leadership has been recognized with some of the country's most respected honours, including two Lieutenant Governor of Ontario awards — the Lincoln M. Alexander Award and the Ontario Heritage Award — as well as the BlackNorth Youth Leadership Award and national recognition among Canada's accomplished and emerging Black women leaders.
We look forward to celebrating this milestone with Tenisha as she begins her Juris Doctor this fall. The $5,000 award will be applied directly toward her legal education at Osgoode Hall Law School.
To Tenisha — congratulations. We are proud to invest in the future you are already building.
We also extend our sincere thanks to every applicant. The caliber of this year's pool was extraordinary, and each application reflected the promise of a generation of future lawyers we are privileged to support.
