Tinnish Andersen serves as Senior Counsel at Drake Law, bringing a wealth of experience and principled advocacy to the firm.
Born in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Tinnish is Canadian of Danish, French, and German descent. She grew up in Montreal, Paris, France, and Toronto, experiences that shaped her global outlook and deep appreciation for language, culture, and justice. She speaks English, French, and German.
Before pursuing law, she earned a Bachelor of Arts with a concentration in photography from Ryerson University, developing a thoughtful, analytical perspective that continues to inform her legal practice.
After attending law school at the University of Ottawa, Tinnish was called to the Bar of Ontario in 2006, and the Bar of the Northwest Territories in 2023. She values the honour and responsibility of practising law as both a barrister and solicitor, viewing her role as one grounded in service, integrity, and respect for the rule of law.
Her practice focuses on family law, where she is deeply committed to protecting and defending the rights and interests of her clients. Known by clients and colleagues for her tenacity, Tinnish approaches each matter with energy, persistence, and care, advocating diligently while maintaining the highest ethical standards. She is particularly committed to access to justice and to improving the administration of justice through principled, client‑focused advocacy.
Outside of her legal practice, Tinnish enjoys reading, walking her Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier, and gourmet cooking.
